We will be watching and discussing the film of Vladimir Maykov:
The Dance of Infinity
Documentary film, color, 79 min, format: Full HD, (2015, 2019)
The Dance of Infinity is a film consisting of a series of interviews with luminaries from the religious, spiritual, therapeutic, artistic and scientific worlds – the film presents a kaleidoscopic view of what might be described as a contemporary inter-disciplinary culture of awakening.
The film itself is a visual manifesto of spiritually-oriented psychology and psychotherapy and transmits spiritual revelations, artistic insights and scientific discoveries about the Infinity of human psyche and the ways of realizing this Infinity.
Tts main aim is to connect watchers to the great discovery and life message of the great Masters: “We are not limited by material world, we have all infinite potential we can realize in our life, there are multiple perfect way to realize this potential”.
The principal heroes of the film are pioneers of spiritually-oriented psychology (transpersonal, integral, process-oriented, etc.) such as Ken Wilber, Roger Walsh and Frances Vaughan, Stan and Christina Grof, Charles Tart, Arnold and Amy Mindell, Amit Goswami, Michael Harner, Silvia Nakkach, Bronislav Vinogrodsky. All they are in a good company of other great Masters of Art, Science and Spirituality.
Among the spiritual Masters are:
CHOGYAL NAMKAI NORBU
DALAI LAMA XIV
LAMA TSULTRIM ALLIONE
Among the Art Masters are:
DEVA PREMAL AND MITEN
“To be, or not to be,” this is the question asked by Hamlet. Today the whole humanity faces the Hamlet question. All people want to leave – and leave happily. The true happiness is based on the realized life and development of humanity to the Highest.
On broad sense it’s aimed to present the essence of Masters vision about limitless of human nature (Masters of Spiritual traditions, Masters of Arts, and Masters of Science). And presenting this great discovery from different perspectives may be very affirming. On more particular sense its present multiple ways of human evolution on this planet and different understanding of human situation and roots of our suffering and limitation and concrete paths to higher realization (enlightenment). It also gives multiple perspectives on enlightenment and evolution.
It took me more than five years to finish the film and around two years to find new ways of composing into harmonious vision 35 heroes and around 200 shots and working on this film I’ve found new understanding on how documentary film can be edited and directed. So, film is structured according ancient spiritual vision of reality (different sets of three different realms correlated to outer, inner, and essential worlds), with special attention to “atmosphere” and non-verbal aspects of each shot.
The film captures a certain spirit of the age. It is generous in its eclecticism: the Christian church, perhaps unusually for a film of this kind, is given due respect. Its relentless optimism and positivity are uplifting. It is rare to find such a distinguished range of spiritual thinkers under the same roof: the viewer is almost bound to be grabbed and inspired by some of them.
